Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Kambo called the Vaccine of the forest?

Kambo will boost the body’s bioactive and neuroactive peptides and works as a natural antioxidant, antimicrobial, antibiotic, and antihypertensive, making it a great way to cleanse the mind and body and strengthen the immune system. This is why it is sometimes referred to as the vaccine of the forest.

What should I expect from a Kambo session?

There are variables depending on the method of application which is detailed don the website. We offer three methodologies for Kambo: Traditional, Trauma Informed and Peptide Power. We will ensure you are well-prepared both physically and mentally for whichever method you choose and provide you with all necessary guidelines and precautions.

How many Kambo treatments do I need to have?

This is entirely down to personal choice and dependant on your reasons for sitting with Kambo. For optimal benefits, it is a popular choice to undergo three treatments within 30 days. Some individuals spread these sessions over the course of a month, while others prefer to complete them over three days. Each person’s tolerance and circumstances are unique, and some require more recovery or integration time between sessions.

How many gates do I need?

The number of gates required varies based on your individual situation. We will discuss this during your consultation. A test gate is placed initially to ensure no adverse reactions, and then typically followed by three gates in the first session. This can be adjusted according to your specific needs and relative to any prior experience with Kambo.

Will I need to receive subsequent Kambo treatments?

The requirement for subsequent Kambo sessions depends on the initial protocol you opt for and your individual personal needs and health status. A maintenance schedule, ranging from every 1 to 4 months but usually not exceeding one year, can be arranged if required and is based on individual circumstances.

How frequently can you sit with Kambo?

Kambo is not intended for frequent use unless necessary. It is not a recreational, psychedelic, or addictive substance. The frequency of sessions should be planned with your practitioner according to your specific needs.

Does Kambo scar?

Providing the gates are sealed well and kept clean, they scab and heal and typically disappear within 2-3 weeks. Some faint marks do remain on the skin but there are variables due to skin age, colour and elasticity and where the gates are located on the body. Some individuals may have longer-lasting marks and others, nothing noticeable.

How long does a Kambo treatment last?

This will depend on which method of application you opt for. The traditional method is purgative and typically lasts 20-40 minutes with rest time after. Whereas the application for trauma informed or peptide power is a much slower process. Relative to the method of application, the entire session can take between 2-4 hours.

Is Kambo a psychedelic or hallucinogenic substance?

No.
